I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, practicing privately since 2014. I work with primarily with couples experiencing issues such as: relationship distress, divorce, infidelity, major life transitions, and family difficulties.
I believe in working collaboratively with my clients, helping you use your strengths to reach your desired goal. I strive to create an open, accepting and comfortable environment in which to push yourself to make changes.
My clients are treated as individuals experiencing every day, real life problems, not as a diagnosis to "fix". I do this by weaving together therapy approaches that best suit your needs such as:
-
The Gottman Method Couples Therapy, using research based interventions and techniques to strengthen communication, deepen intimacy and build a life long foundation of trust, commitment and friendship.
-
Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) to heal, deepen and enrich relationships through repairing broken attachments.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to challenge and change painful thought patterns.
I have completed
-
Gottman Level 1 & 2 Clinical Training (The Gottman Institute)
-
Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) training including a four-day externship through the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).
Additionally, I have completed trainings in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
In 2012, I obtained my Masters of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire Marriage and Family Therapy Program. After graduation, I worked at Seacoast Mental Health Center in Portsmouth as an outreach therapist helping adults with severe and persistent mental illness, and their families.
