Couples Therapy FAQ
What can we expect in our first session together?
Our first meeting is about creating safety. We'll explore the current patterns in your relationship and identify the goals you both hope to achieve in our work together.
How does Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) work?
EFT focuses on the emotional bond between partners. We look at the 'dance' of your relationship to shift from conflict toward secure attachment and deeper understanding.
What are your session lengths and frequency?
Standard sessions are 60 minutes. Most couples find that weekly sessions provide the best momentum for meaningful change, though we can adjust based on your needs.
What are your fees and insurance policies? FAQ
I charge $150 for a one-hour session. I am an out-of-network provider, meaning I do not bill insurance directly. I can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. FAQ
Do both partners need to attend every session?
Yes, for couples therapy, the relationship is the client. Having both partners present ensures a balanced space where each voice is heard and active healing can occur.
How do we know if therapy is right for us?
If you're feeling stuck, disconnected, or caught in conflict cycles, therapy offers a path forward. A brief consultation can help us determine if my approach is a good fit for your bond.
